The Z-Axis Collective is aimed at removing barriers to knowledge about remote sensing, satellites and demystifying geospatial technology and its scope for sustainability among students from underserved communities. Through an extensively researched teacher handbook, Z-Axis aims to introduce lessons on these topics in a way that is compatible with the ICSE curriculum. This will help contextualize student’s learning while broadening their knowledge on the applications of their syllabus topics.
For a younger demographic, we are building a series of children’s books on satellites, what they are, how they operate, and their multifarious functions to develop an early interest in students. Through a carefully built repository of low-cost AI and CS opportunities for students, we hope to help those interested continue their learning. Ultimately, through fundraising for learning devices, Z-Axis aims to increase access to alternative learning opportunities around geospatial technology and satellites for students from socio-economically disadvantaged communities.
